The DB5CEA7 is the fourth generation of DBC industrial development boards

The latest version is based on the Altera Cyclone V Low cost FPGA 5CEFA7F27C7N. Two DDR3 memory banks are connected by a 16 bit width using the hard Memory Controller IP of the FPGA and a 8 bit width using a soft memory controller in the same I/O Bank. Several Industrial peripherals are implemented like Dual Ethernet (10/100Mbit), Dual CAN Transceiver, quad RS485 and RS232. A LVDS Based TFT interface is implemented, 8 User LEDs, 4 Buttons and a Navigation key. For extension 32 GPIO Pins are available for 3.3 V and 16 GPIOs with selectable IO Voltage. Additional 16 Channels 24V I/O are provided for direct implementation into PLC Systems. For Industrial Communication, IPs and protocol stacks for the Mercury Code board are available via several partner companies.

The DB5CGXFC7 Board is based on the Altera Cyclone® V GX Device providing PCIe and SFP cages for the transceivers, 32 bit DDR3 memory and a QSPI device for active serial configuration. Two 100 Mbit Ethernet Phys and one Gigabit Phy is available for communication purposes, as well as two CAN transceivers and two RS485 transceivers. 43 GPIO signals are available on pin headers, 4 button, a Dip-Switch and 8 LEDs are available for debug purposes. Host connection can be done with the implemented embedded USB-Blaster™ II or via the normal JTAG connector.

The SoCrates Starter Kit provides a full system development environment for software and hardware engineers to launch their projects. It provides access to many of the peripherals found on the Altera SoC including 32-bit DDR3 Memory, Ethernet, USB, GPIO, CMOS sensor boards and a TFT display. It is based on the new Altera SoC. The SoC integrates a Cyclone V FPGA with a Cortex-A9 processor. Together with an Addon-Module with 2 10/100MBit Ethernet Phys (SoCrates-Phy1), different Industrial Ethernet-Protocolls can easily be implemented.

The SoC integrates a dual-core ARM Cyclone® V FPGA with a dual-Cortex™A9 Hard Processor Sub System (HPS). The HPS provides the processor core and several peripherals. SoCrates provides a subset of the peripherals like Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, SDCard and GPIO. A 32 bit DDR3 Memory is used together with a QSPI Flash as a BootOption, together with the SD Card interface. The FPGA can be configured using a second QSPI Flash. The FPGA I/O Pins are connected to several connectors, providing 3.3 V I/O and LVDS I/O Standard. A special LVDS connector is available to connect the EBV Observer CMOS Sensor Board to SoCrates. On the Bottom of the board, a TFT-display with an LVDS-interface can be connected.
